Duties
- Greet customers warmly and provide expert assistance on a variety of products including woodworking projects, tools, finishing, lumber selection, accessories and more.
- Maintain organized and attractive merchandise displays through effective merchandising and stocking practices.
- Process sales transactions accurately using POS (Point of Sale) systems and handle cash or electronic payments with precision.
- Offer knowledgeable advice on projects, lumber, finishing and more to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Assist with inventory management by stocking shelves, conducting stock counts and managing product replenishment.
- Support e-commerce initiatives by helping customers place online orders or pick up in-store items.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing questions, resolving issues promptly and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
- Help load lumber and equipment into customers vehicles.
- Help ensure the showroom, break areas and classroom remain clean.
Requirements
- Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are essential.
- Strong communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers.
- Knowledge of woodworking, lumber, machinery and maintenance is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and retail math for accurate transactions and inventory management.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage stock levels and maintain an inviting store environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as stocking shelves or assisting customers with product selection.
- A proactive attitude with strong interpersonal skills to connect with customers and team members alike.
