The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary
The Human Resources and Faculty Affairs Generalist will be responsible handling day-to-day human resources and faculty
affairs functions including recruitment, onboarding, compliance review, and administrative support at the College of
Dental Medicine. Under the guidance of the Assistant Director and Senior HR Generalist, the HR Generalist will support
the mission, vision, and values upheld by the College of Dental Medicine. Responsibilities include:
Responsibilities
Human Resources:
- Handle recruitment needs for Officers of Administration, Officers of Instruction, Officers of Research, SSA, short-term
visitors, Service Corp and other administrative positions.
- Creating job descriptions, postings, applicant tracking, candidate screening and scheduling interviews.
- Assist central HR with onboarding needs for administrative positions as needed.
- Handle pre-onboarding for all faculty and academic affairs positions. Acquire affirmative action clearances,
schedule mandated requirements (I9, medical clearance, background checks and compliance training, etc.)
- Responsible for immigration needs for faculty, staff and students. Handle sponsorship processes for new,
extensions, and transfers of J1, O1, and H1B applications. Maintain communication with ISSO, complete and
submit termination forms via COMPASS. Track visa reports and ensure compliance.
- Coordinate with the Office of Leave Management with requests, processing, inquires and transactions.
- Coordinate system access (EPIC, UNI, domain, share drives, etc.), and onboarding required training (TLAM
training, PAC training, HIPPA).
- Monitor, manage and triage (2) CDMHR Inboxes, ensuring inquiries are addressed promptly.
- Partner with Columbia University Employment Information Center to manage and track all temporary hiring
needs in the teaching clinic and faculty practice.
- Assist with special projects as needed.
Faculty Affairs:
- Assistant Senior HR Generalist with faculty reappointment processing including running credentialing and license
verifications, solicit reference letters and acquire delineation of privileges signatures.
- Creating new profiles in Salesforce database for all new incoming faculty and assist with enrollment submissions
in Med Staff database.
- Prepare and process all student onboarding for residents, non-acgme fellows, ITI Scholars and other program fellowships.
Compliance:
- Monitor, track and reconcile annual mandated trainings for: annual health, risk management, HIPPA, sexual harassment, billing compliance and any other required trainings for the school.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned/requested.
