Position Overview:
Love Pomelo is seeking a warm and welcoming Host/Hostess to join our team. The Host/Hostess will be the first point of contact for our guests, providing exceptional hospitality and ensuring a smooth and enjoyable dining experience from the moment they arrive. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Greet guests with a friendly and welcoming demeanor upon arrival.
- Manage the waitlist and seating arrangements efficiently, taking into account table availability.
- Escort guests to their tables and provide menus.
- Communicate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely seating and service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization at the host stand and waiting area.
- Answer phone calls and assist with inquiries, reservations, and takeout orders.
- Provide accurate wait time estimates and manage guest expectations.
- Assist with special requests and accommodations for guests whenever possible.
- Monitor the dining room flow and coordinate with management to optimize seating arrangements.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including setting up and breaking down the host stand area.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Positive attitude and enthusiasm for providing exceptional service.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
