About the Position
We are seeking an individual looking to advance his career as an electrical estimator. The newly hired Estimator will report to the Business Development Manager and join the team that is solely responsible for all communication, documentation, and research as it relates to the estimating efforts of the company.
Candidates for this position must possess, above all, superb communication and organizational skills as well as an extensive understanding of the electrical construction industry. A successful addition to our team would be a hard-working, collaborative, honest, fun, and detail-oriented candidate who thrives on deadlines and multi-tasking.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform pricing of material, labor, subcontracting and other related cost for all industrial or commercial projects with or without customer supplied engineering drawings or documentation
- Create detailed estimates with budgets on computerized software
- Accompany Account Managers, Electrical Foreman and/or customer to understand scope of project and walk project if needed to ensure accurate estimate of project
- Communicate with customer on questions or details that may affect the accuracy of the estimate
- Communicate with any supporting trade(s) associated with a potential project to procure accurate quotes
- Work with internal purchasing department to establish best material and vendor pricing
- Develop full knowledge of potential project to be able to answer and describe electrical construction questions relating to the project from start to finish
- Understand and apply the most recent National Electric Code NEC and apply to all estimates
- Write an accurate description of overall project and/or change order scope, work required, major material provided with details regarding working hours and any other details specific to the proposed project that can be used to write or assist in the writing of the proposal to the customer
- Maintain continual training, understanding, and updating of estimating software including up-to-date labor and material costs, and software version updates
- Provide estimates for change orders requested by foreman or account managers
- Provide and submit material requisitions for purchasing specialty project items and materials and assist Foreman in ordering specific material for projects
- Assist in any way possible for the success of any project
Candidate Qualifications
- High School diploma required, college degree or trade school certificate preferred
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel
- Estimating Software experience required, ConEst experience preferred
- (5) years experience as an estimator in the electrical construction field
- History of volunteerism, non-profit work

Compensation is dependent on experience.
