Position Overview
Blue Ridge Mountain Club is seeking a personable, skilled, and service-driven Bartender to deliver an exceptional beverage experience for our members and guests. This role is responsible for preparing high-quality beverages, engaging with guests, and contributing to a welcoming and elevated club atmosphere.
The ideal candidate is passionate about hospitality, has strong product knowledge, and brings creativity and pride to craft cocktail development, helping enhance and evolve our beverage program.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Experience
o Provide warm, attentive, and personalized service to all members and guests.
o Engage guests in a professional and friendly manner, creating memorable experiences
o Anticipate guest needs and make thoughtful beverage recommendations
Beverage Preparation & Creativity
o Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to established standards
o Execute classic and craft cocktails with consistency and attention to detail
o Contribute creative ideas for cocktails, seasonal menus, and unique beverage experiences
o Stay current on industry trends and bring fresh, innovative concepts to the bar program
o Maintain strong knowledge of spirits, wine, beer, and seasonal offerings
Bar Operations
o Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area at all times
o Ensure proper setup, stocking, and breakdown of bar stations
o Accurately process orders and handle cash/credit transactions
Compliance & Safety
o Adhere to all North Carolina ABC laws and responsible alcohol service practices
o Monitor guest consumption and handle intoxicated guests appropriately
o Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment
Team Collaboration
o Work closely with servers, kitchen staff, and leadership to ensure seamless service
o Communicate effectively during high-volume service periods
o Support overall club operations as needed
Qualifications
- Previous bartending experience in a restaurant, resort, or club environment preferred
- Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine, and beer
- Demonstrated creativity in crafting cocktails or contributing to beverage menus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and efficient in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Must be at least 21 years of age
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with craft cocktails and elevated beverage programs
- Knowledge of bourbon and whiskey (highly valued)
- Experience in private club, resort, or hospitality-driven environments
- Familiarity with POS systems (Toast preferred)
Work Environment & Expectations
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Professional appearance and adherence to club standards
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
