Facilities Process Engineer Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, including Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or a related field
- 3–5 years of experience in facilities, process, or manufacturing engineering
- Automotive manufacturing or Tier 1/Tier 2 supplier experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of facility utilities and building systems
- Experience with equipment layouts, commissioning, and process optimization
- Familiarity with OSHA, EHS standards, and manufacturing safety requirements
- Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar layout and design software
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and industrial conditions
- Lean, Six Sigma, or PMP certification preferred
- Experience with new plant launches or facility expansions preferred
- Knowledge of IATF 16949, APQP, and PFMEA preferred
- Experience working with global teams preferred
- Bilingual English/Mandarin skills are a plus
Key Responsibilities
Facilities & Process Engineering
- Design, implement, and optimize facility processes supporting manufacturing operations
- Develop facility layouts to improve material flow, ergonomics, and production efficiency
- Support installation, commissioning, and validation of production equipment and utilities
- Ensure electrical, compressed air, water, HVAC, gas, and vacuum systems meet production requirements
- Troubleshoot facility and process issues that impact production uptime
Maintenance & Reliability
- Collaborate with Maintenance and Engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and facility performance
- Establish preventive and predictive maintenance standards for facility systems
- Analyze downtime and root causes and implement corrective actions
Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Ensure facility operations comply with OSHA, EPA, local codes, and company safety standards
- Support EHS initiatives related to facility systems and process safety
- Assist with IATF 16949 and customer-specific requirements
- Participate in risk assessments, PFMEA, and continuous improvement initiatives
Project & Continuous Improvement
- Lead or support facility-related capital projects, expansions, and plant modifications
- Manage contractors and vendors for facility installations and upgrades
- Support APQP activities related to facility readiness for new product launches
- Drive continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles
Documentation & Reporting
- Develop and maintain facility process documentation, SOPs, and technical drawings
- Track KPIs related to facility efficiency, uptime, and energy usage
- Prepare technical reports and present findings to leadership
