Job DescriptionWe are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Swim Instructors to join our team in Garden City, NY. The ideal candidate has a passion for teaching, a strong background in swimming, and a commitment to water safety.In this role, you will educate individuals of all ages on swimming techniques, safety protocols, and water confidence. Your focus will be creating a positive, encouraging learning environment while ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants.Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct Lessons: Lead engaging swim instruction for individuals and groups of varying ages and skill levels.
- Teach Safety: Educate participants on water safety, swimming techniques, and proper breathing methods.
- Provide Feedback: Offer constructive, encouraging feedback to help swimmers enhance their skills.
- Maintain Safety: Ensure the pool area remains safe, clean, and compliant with safety standards at all times.
- Manage Classes: Apply positive behavior management strategies to keep lessons productive and fun.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Proven experience in swimming instruction, physical education, childcare, or a related field.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of swimming strokes, water safety protocols, and effective teaching methods.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to connect with various age groups.
- Certifications: Lifeguard, CPR/AED, or WSI (Water Safety Instructor) certifications are preferred but not mandatory.
- Location: Ability to reliably commute to the facility in Garden City, NY.
