Hans Home is a Los Angeles-based residential general contractor specializing in accessory dwelling units (ADUs), single-family new builds, and remodeling. We are a small, growing team focused on delivering high-quality residential projects across the greater LA area.
The Role
We're hiring an Assistant Project Manager / Field Lead to support active residential construction projects. This is a hands-on, field-focused role that combines project coordination, site oversight, and direct subcontractor management. You'll work closely with the founder, gain exposure to all phases of residential construction, and have a clear path to a full-time role as workload supports.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site visits to monitor project progress, quality, and safety
- Coordinate subcontractors (framers, plumbers, electricians, HVAC, finishes) on scheduling, materials, and deliveries
- Schedule and attend city inspections; track inspector feedback and corrections
- Run permit-related errands and follow up on plan check, approvals, and corrections with local building departments
- Read construction drawings, identify field issues, and communicate them to the project manager
- Document progress with photos and written status updates
- Support project tracking, punch lists, and close-out tasks
Required Qualifications
- 1–3+ years of experience in residential construction (project manager, assistant PM, superintendent, field supervisor, or trade)
- Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle for travel between LA-area job sites
- Located in or willing to commute daily within the greater LA area
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Strong communication skills — proactive about flagging issues, scheduling changes, and updates
- Ability to read construction drawings and apply residential building codes
Preferred
- Experience with ADU, remodel, or single-family new build projects
- Familiarity with LADBS, City of LA, or surrounding municipal building departments
- Comfortable with project management or photo documentation software (Buildertrend, CompanyCam, Procore, or similar)
Schedule & Compensation
- Part-time to start: 20 hours per week
- Path to full-time: typically within 1–2 months based on project workload and performance
- Pay: $40/hour
- Stipends: lunch and gas (provided for active workdays)
- Workers' compensation insurance provided
