Diesel Mechanic – Efficient Trucking, Inc.
Overview Efficient Trucking, Inc. is looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team. We operate a well-equipped, professional shop and take pride in keeping our fleet running at peak performance. This is a hands-on role with variety — no two days are the same. You'll work primarily on our Mack tractor fleet and MTM trailers, while also servicing outside customer equipment. Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on Mack diesel trucks and MTM trailers
- Use Mack's diagnostic software and computer-based systems to identify and resolve engine, transmission, and electronic faults
- Complete routine services: oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, and scheduled PMs
- Inspect, repair, and replace trailer and tractor lighting systems (DOT compliance)
- Perform tire service including mounting, dismounting, balancing, and repairs
- Welding and fabrication as needed for trailer and equipment repairs
- Operate shop equipment including forklifts and Bobcat skid steer
- Service outside customer equipment in addition to company fleet
- Clock in and out of work orders using Fleetio, our fleet management software — all labor time and job notes are tracked digitally
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Document all work orders and parts used accurately within Fleetio
Qualifications
- 3+ years of diesel mechanic experience (heavy truck preferred)
- Proficiency with diesel diagnostic software and electronic systems
- Experience with air brake systems, hydraulics, electrical, and suspension
- Welding experience (MIG/stick preferred)
- Ability to perform tire service independently
- Comfortable using a tablet or smartphone for work order tracking (Fleetio experience a plus)
- Valid driver's license required
- CDL (Class A) a plus — candidates with CDL strongly preferred
- ASE certifications a plus
