The Surfrider Hotel Malibu is looking for a day and evening Line/ Dishwasher to join our Food & Beverage team!
Located across the street from the beautiful Surfrider Beach in Malibu, CA, the Surfrider Hotel is a 20 room boutique hotel. We are seeking a Line Cook/ Dishwasher with a positive attitude to join our dedicated kitchen staff! You will assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of meals, as well as in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of all kitchen equipment, utensils, and dishes in our professional kitchen.
This role is crucial to ensuring smooth kitchen operations and contributing to a clean and safe dining environment for guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain all health code protocols
- Ensure a first-in, first-out food rotation system and verifies all food products are properly dated and organized for quality assurance
- Keep cooking stations stocked, especially before and during prime operation hours
- Perform food and product prep work by keeping detailed records and minimizes waste, plus works with existing systems to improve waste reduction
- Verify that food storage units all meet standards and are consistently well-managed
- Perform equipment cleanliness, maintenance and condition.
- Perform all duties of Line Cook job as required
- Washing and sanitizing: Clean dishes, glassware, silverware, pots, and pans using dishwashers or by hand.
- Dishwasher maintenance: Operate and maintain the dishwashing machine, report any malfunctions or required repairs.
- Trash and waste management: Dispose of kitchen waste and empty trash bins regularly.
Requirements:
- Have a valid food handler certificate
- Prior experience is required.
