Databricks Data Architect - United States | Remote / Work at Home
We are seeking a Databricks Data Architect to lead the design and delivery of modern healthcare data platforms across cloud and hybrid environments. In this role, you will shape scalable Lakehouse architectures, guide modernization from legacy platforms to Databricks and Azure, and help clients unlock enterprise analytics, reporting, and interoperability outcomes. - Lead the architecture and delivery of healthcare data platforms across cloud and hybrid environments.
- Drive platform strategy, roadmap planning, and modernization initiatives aligned to business and technology goals.
- Define scalable Databricks Lakehouse solutions using Delta Lake and medallion architecture patterns across bronze, silver, and gold layers.
- Establish reference architectures, reusable design patterns, and engineering best practices for enterprise data delivery.
- Modernize legacy data platforms to Databricks Lakehouse and Azure-based architectures.
- Design scalable frameworks for data ingestion, curation, quality, reconciliation, governance, lineage, and monitoring.
- Oversee the development of high-performance data pipelines supporting enterprise, operational, and clinical use cases.
- Support analytics, reporting, and interoperability requirements across healthcare data domains.
- Provide technical leadership for solutions spanning claims, clinical, pharmacy, and interoperability data.
- Ensure architecture decisions align with enterprise standards for security, compliance, reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Partner with stakeholders, delivery teams, and engineering leaders to prioritize platform capabilities and roadmap investments.
- Mentor engineers and lead architectural discussions that influence technical direction and delivery excellence.
- Promote adoption of governance and data privacy controls, including alignment with Databricks security and compliance requirements.
- 10+ years of experience in data engineering, platform architecture, and enterprise data delivery.
- Proven leadership experience in healthcare data environments.
- Hands-on Databricks experience in production, including experience as a Databricks Solution Architect or Technical Lead.
- Strong expertise in Databricks Lakehouse architecture, Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, medallion patterns, and orchestration/workflow design.
- Experience deploying and operating Databricks on Azure, AWS, and/or GCP, with strong understanding of integrations across storage, identity, and networking.
- Proficiency in Python, PySpark, and SQL.
- Strong experience designing scalable and resilient enterprise data pipelines and frameworks.
- Ability to lead architecture reviews, influence decisions, and collaborate effectively with client stakeholders and internal technical teams.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value.
The base salary range for this position is $ 106,087 - $ 155,375.72 plus incentives that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on work location, qualifications, skills, education, experience, and competencies.
