As a Solar Service Technician, you’ll be the hero customers count on to keep their solar systems running strong. This person will be responsible for diagnosis, service, maintenance, and warranty work on residential and commercial PV systems. The ideal candidate will be self motivated, have the necessary critical thinking skills to troubleshoot & diagnose solar and electrical issues, along with strong organizational and customer service skills.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Conduct routine inspections of residential & commercial solar panel arrays, inverters, wiring, and mounting structures to identify potential issues or damage.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as cleaning panels, tightening connections, and replacing faulty components to ensure system efficiency.
- Troubleshoot electrical problems using schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Repair or replace defective electrical components, fixtures, or wiring while adhering to safety protocols in accordance with NEC standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to facilitate accurate installation, maintenance, or repair work on solar systems.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, roofing equipment, and construction site experience to access and work safely on rooftops or other installation sites.
Required Skills:
- Proven electrical experience with a focus on high voltage and low voltage systems; previous commercial electrician experience is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of schematics, blueprints reading, NEC standards, and electrical codes relevant to solar installations.
- Familiarity with electrical troubleshooting techniques related to solar power systems; knowledge of fixture installation is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues quickly while maintaining safety standards at all times.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, roofing equipment, forklifts, and other construction-related machinery safely and efficiently.
Preferred Experience:
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
- Electrical & general construction experience
- NABCEP Certification (Preferred, not required)
- Journeyman Electrician License (Preferred, not required)
- Enphase, Generac, SolarEdge, Tesla or other PV manufacturer certifications
This position requires travel to local and regional in state locations and will require a clean driving record.
Pay: $30.00 - $38.00 per hour
