Oncology Data Specialist – Abstractors are responsible to complete clinical data abstraction for all reportable & non-reportable primary sites of cancer according to the reporting and timeliness guidelines established by the CoC, SEER, State Registries and other Standard Setters as required.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Reviews EMR to identify cancer cases and abstract details including patient demographics, tumor location/size, diagnosis, treatment (surgery, chemo, radiation), and outcomes.
Abstracts data into specialized medical software with supporting narrative information for patient demographics, diagnostic procedures, history and extent of disease, treatments, outcomes, follow-up data, physicians, and related information from various medical records.
Minimum Qualifications and Skills
Knowledge of latest guidelines from standard setters (CoC, SEER, and NAACCR), and the ability to apply them accurately.

Note: Savista is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The hourly range for this role is from $29 - $35. However, specific compensation for the role will vary within the above range based on many factors including but not limited to geographic location, candidate experience, applicable certifications, and skills.
