The Senior Buyer is responsible for developing the supply base to support the manufacturing plan to satisfy the strategic and tactical supply chain functions required to meet customer demand while carrying minimum effective inventory. The qualified individual will be responsible for working with planning and operations on a daily basis to issue all required purchase orders for assigned suppliers. While assuring the suppliers pricing, quality and delivery performance are in line with the company goals and objectives. The qualified individual will be responsible for cost savings, inventory levels, and corporate financial targets. Strong collaboration with Operations, Finance and Sourcing Management will be critical to the success of this position.
· Identifies, qualifies and develops new suppliers – both in support of New Product Development and in support of supplier consolidation, working capital improvements and/or cost saving goals
· Identifies opportunities with existing suppliers for VA/VE projects and other cost savings projects
· Works with Supplier Quality to develop and maintain quarterly Supplier Scorecard system
· Works with Finance and Legal teams to ensure the company’s business interests are represented in contracts
· Ensures inventory management is maintained per pre-determined inventory targets
· Actively participate and lead lean continuous improvement activities that result in the best value with regard to price, quality, delivery and inventory management performance
· Coordinates all activities related to procurement of assigned commodities, beginning with intent-to-purchase through on-time delivery
· Analyze the requirements of the assigned commodities, including preliminary specifications, preferred supplier and date commodity if needed
· Maintains timely control of orders, amendments, shipping notice, and other documents to assure accurate retention of records
· Support design engineering for both new products and existing product engineering changes

Education and Experience
· Bachelor's Degree Required
· APICS or CPM Certification Preferred

· Familiarity with freight, net terms and terms of conditions
· Knowledge of metal finishing in a manufacturing environment
· Relationship building with suppliers to support partnership and open collaboration

Pay: $70,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
