Duties
- Provide peer support by sharing personal recovery experiences to motivate clients and foster hope.
- Assist individuals with mental health conditions and co-occurring disorders in developing coping strategies and recovery plans.
- Conduct crisis intervention and crisis management to ensure client safety during emotional or behavioral emergencies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care, utilizing Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems for documentation and communication.
- Support clients in harm reduction techniques and addiction counseling strategies tailored to their unique needs.
- Engage with culturally diverse communities, respecting individual backgrounds while promoting inclusive recovery practices.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of client information in accordance with privacy regulations and ethical standards.
Experience
- Proven experience working with individuals facing mental health conditions, substance use disorders, or co-occurring disorders.
- Demonstrated ability in crisis management, crisis intervention, and behavioral health support.
- Strong mentoring skills with a focus on peer support advocacy and client communication.
- Knowledge of harm reduction principles, addiction counseling, social work practices, and recovery-oriented approaches.
- Experience working with culturally diverse populations to ensure respectful, personalized care delivery.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and case tracking.
- Personal experience sharing recovery journeys is highly valued, emphasizing authenticity and empathy in client interactions.
