The Technician Supervisor is responsible for technicians and resources in support of FlexSteel installation projects. Directly supervises technicians to assure work is completed effectively and efficiently. Manages field related customer service issues as they arise. They will also be a local installations management personnel and may need to be a first responder for installations related customer service issues.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Supervises technicians to aid and support all aspects of their job.
- Works closely with technicians to assure schedules and priorities are congruent and client needs are being met.
- Assures Company image and workforce integrity is a top priority for themselves and all subordinates.
- Provides projections with dispatcher for regional manpower and equipment needs to assure maximum utilizations without compromising safety or quality.
- Works with coordinator to plan and organize work processes, workloads, and staff assignments as a SME.
- Trains, motivates, and evaluates technicians to comply with installation program.
- Communicates effectively with staff to convey plans, policies, and procedures and with management to assure proper dissemination of field operations related information and feedback.
- Provides necessary supervision, direction, and assistance to technicians daily.
- Examines work and techniques for procedural conformance, quality, and timeliness.
- Work closely with HSE to enforce policies, regulations and safety and health standards.
- Ensures quality is maintained throughout the installation process.
- Takes leadership role in resolving any issues related to field work and or customer complaints needing assistance in resolving installation issues.
- Prepare and distribute communication with alerts as required.
- Validate time entry with DFT’s on a weekly basis
- Review deficiencies on a weekly basis and disseminate as needed for corrections
- Provide ongoing guidance and support to technicians in a variety of ways to suit both the company and customer.
- Review and approve expenses in accordance to expense policy.
- Works with Engineering and design group, equipment development
- Champions policies, regulations and safety and health standards.
- Be a first responder and help supervise the resolution of any client complaints should any arise.
- Support in deployment or connection installation when FPT services are in high demand.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Company’s management.
- Identify untrained contractors who could be good match to partner with on future projects.
- Perform ride-a-longs with field technicians in assigned region to help coach/train for current and future development.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS

- High School Diploma or Associates Degree, plus at least five years experience in a pipeline construction (or related industry) with supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong supervisory, organizational, decision making, and planning skills are required
- Extensive knowledge of pipeline construction, spoolable product installation, and the associated equipment, maintenance, and operational considerations.
- Must be self-driven and able to work independently.
- Must demonstrate the ability to manage time effectively and prioritize work assignments.
- Must be cognizant of deadlines (internal/external) and tenacious in preserving them.
- Must have excellent communication.
- Strong health and safety emphasis with focus on keeping all appropriate certifications current.
- Computer skills (Excel, MS Word, Outlook, Powerpoint)

- Field, Branch, Shop, & Plant Positions: This position operates in an industrial/field environment. The role requires working in and around manufacturing equipment, heavy machinery, and potentially hazardous materials. While performing the duties of this job, the employee:
- Must be able to lift/move up to 50 pounds regularly
- Stand and walk for extended periods (up to 12 hours per shift)
- Climb stairs and ladders
- Bend, stoop, kneel, and reach
- Work in confined spaces when required
- Operate heavy equipment and power tools
- Perform repetitive movements
