This position is not eligible for remote work and will work on site.
Anticipated schedule will be daytime to early evening hours Monday – Friday, with occasional weekend hours. Specifics can be discussed at time of interview.
This employee in this position will need to be able to work up to 14 hours per day and more than 40 hours per week on any shift based on daily operational needs. This may include weekends and holidays.
This position has physical requirements related to performing the job duties that involve being able to stand and move freely. This role will prepare food and inspect sanitation, which involves manipulating fine objects, operating appliances, and lifting freely up to 50 lbs. to perform necessary tasks, and may need to occasionally climb stairs. Food service workers will work in a commercial-style kitchen in close proximity to other staff and resident workers. This position must also comply with the facility’s health policies, including those regarding Tuberculosis Screening and Hepatitis Vaccination.
This position is FLSA Non-Exempt.
This position will travel several times a month to other DOC worksites (usually in the same region). Most DOC positions occasionally travel for training, meetings, conferences, or similar events.
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.
The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.
The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.
