We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Driver to join our team in providing safe, reliable, and timely transportation for students after school hours. In this vital role, you will be responsible for transporting students to and from neighborhood schools while ensuring their safety and comfort. Duties
- Safely operate school buses or transit vehicles in accordance with traffic laws, vehicle codes, and transportation safety regulations.
- Pick up and drop off students at designated locations, ensuring punctuality and adherence to schedules.
- Follow emergency response procedures during incidents or accidents, including emergency stop procedures and first aid protocols when necessary.
- Maintain clear communication with school staff, parents, and dispatchers regarding student arrivals, delays, or issues during transit.
- Conduct vehicle inspections before and after routes to ensure safety standards are met and report any maintenance needs promptly.
Experience
- Knowledge of traffic laws, defensive driving techniques, and transportation safety regulations applicable to school transportation.
- Prior experience working with children or in a youth-focused environment is highly desirable.
- Proven experience driving buses or commercial vehicles, including school bus driving or transit bus operation.
- Familiarity with student discipline policies and behavior management strategies is advantageous.This role is essential in ensuring the safety and well-being of our students during their daily commutes.
