Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong commitment to providing the highest level of service to our furry clients. This role involves working closely with various animals, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being while maintaining a clean and organized environment. Attention to detail is a must. Hours are 11am to 7pm M-F.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising dogs and other pets.
- Maintain utmost cleanliness in kennels, treatment areas, and throughout the hospital to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
- Monitor animal behavior and health, reporting any concerns to the veterinary staff or management.
- Handle animals with care and restraint during grooming or veterinary procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about their pets' needs and behaviors.
- Assist in administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments or managing records as required.
Requirements
- Previous experience in animal care or handling is preferred; kennel experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with veterinary practices is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary, including moving animals or equipment.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with pet owners.
- Knowledge of animal behavior, care, and basic grooming practices is beneficial.

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
