Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Carpenter/Laborer, where you'll play a vital role in residential construction and remodeling projects. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work hands-on with a variety of building tasks, from framing and trim carpentry to remodeling and restoration. You will utilize your skills in woodworking, blueprint reading, and construction site experience to deliver high-quality craftsmanship.
Duties
- Interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to accurately execute projects.
- Use hand tools and power tools for woodworking, framing, siding, door hanging, fixture installation, and other carpentry tasks.
- Operate woodworking machines safely and efficiently to cut, shape, and assemble wood construction materials.
- Perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks required for framing, rebar installation, plastering, stucco application, and water damage restoration.
- Install doors, siding, trim, flooring, and other fixtures with precision and attention to detail.
- Assist with demolition, remodeling projects, mold remediation, and restoration work on residential or commercial sites.
- Follow safety protocols including power tool safety practices and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Interpret construction plans and technical drawings accurately to ensure project specifications are met.
- Support the team with miscellaneous handyman tasks such as caulking, metal stud framing, water damage restoration, and reinstallation of building components.
Qualifications
- Prior construction experience with a strong understanding of carpentry techniques and safety standards.
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings effectively.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools for woodworking, and woodworking machines.
- Experience in residential carpentry including framing, trim work, flooring installation, door hanging, siding, and fixture installation.
- Knowledge of construction materials such as wood framing lumber, siding materials, drywall (plastering), stucco applications, rebar for concrete work, and water damage restoration techniques.
- Familiarity with construction site safety practices including power tool safety protocols.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during complex projects.
- Excellent teamwork skills combined with a proactive attitude toward learning new skills in the restoration industry or remodeling projects.
