Role Overview
We are seeking a results-driven Sales Director to lead business development and revenue growth. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, opening new markets, and closing strategic opportunities in an early-stage environment.
The Sales Director will own the sales cycle from prospecting through closing and work closely with leadership to shape go-to-market strategies. This role offers the opportunity to help build and scale the commercial organization as the company grows.
Key Responsibilities
- Revenue Growth & Business Development
- Drive new business acquisition and achieve short- and long-term revenue objectives.
- Identify and develop opportunities across media, publishing, social media, AI, technology, and enterprise markets.
- Conduct market research and develop account-specific growth strategies.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline through networking, referrals, outreach, and strategic prospecting.
- Lead the entire sales process from qualification to negotiation and closing. Customer & Partner Engagement
- Build trusted relationships with customers and strategic partners.
- Understand customer challenges and develop value-driven solutions.
- Conduct business reviews and maximize customer adoption and retention.
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and emerging opportunities.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Leadership teams to align customer requirements with product capabilities.
- Provide market feedback and recommend enhancements to offerings and go-to-market strategies.
- Support customer onboarding and long-term account growth initiatives.
- Strategic Leadership
- Contribute to sales strategy, pricing, and market expansion plans.
- Help establish scalable sales processes and best practices.
- Participate in shaping the future commercial organization and team structure.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of B2B sales experience with a proven record of meeting or
- exceeding targets.
- Experience selling into Media, Publishing, Social Media, SaaS, AI, Data, or Technology sectors.
- Strong business development, negotiation, and account management skills.
- Comfortable with cold outreach and building relationships from scratch.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Highly self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote startup environment.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience selling AI, SaaS, data intelligence, or enterprise software solutions.
- Existing network within media, publishing, technology, or digital platforms.
- Startup experience and ability to operate in fast-paced, evolving environments.
- Experience building go-to-market strategies and scaling early-stage sales functions.
- Leadership experience or the desire to build and mentor a future sales team

- This role is structured as a contract engagement and includes participation in the company’s Profits Interest Unit (PIU) program. PIUs provide contributors the opportunity to share in the future growth and success of the company as key milestones are achieved. Units vest based on the successful completion of agreed project deliverables and represent participation in future profit and value appreciation above a defined threshold. Please note that this is an independent contractor role and does not include employee benefits.
