Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and reliable Furniture Worker Mover to join our team! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for safely handling, loading, unloading, and transporting furniture and heavy equipment within warehouse and distribution environments. Duties
- Safely load and unload furniture and heavy items using appropriate equipment such as forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, cranes, and RF scanners.
- Operate heavy machinery including forklifts, cranes, and other warehouse equipment in compliance with OSHA safety standards.
- Assist with order picking using mechanical knowledge and warehouse management systems to ensure accurate fulfillment of customer orders.
- Transport furniture within the warehouse or to delivery vehicles efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
- Support shipping & receiving activities by verifying shipments, inspecting goods for damage, and documenting movements accurately.
- Load and unload trucks with heavy furniture items using appropriate tools like clamp trucks or pallet jacks while ensuring proper weight distribution.
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment by following warehouse procedures for materials handling and storage.
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution, materials handling, or construction environments.
- Familiarity with order picker operations, forklift certification, crane operation, and heavy equipment handling.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to warehouse operations and heavy machinery use.
- Ability to operate RF scanners, pallet jacks, clamp trucks, and load & unload equipment confidently.
- Mechanical aptitude with a good understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) for order picking and inventory control.
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to perform heavy lifting regularly throughout shifts.
- Prior experience in shipping & receiving processes is highly desirable.
