Job Summary:
The ideal candidate will support our attorneys by preparing legal documents and correspondence, including motions, pleadings, and discovery requests. We are seeking an energetic, detail-oriented Liability Paralegal with experience preparing case files/witnesses for trial. A paralegal who knows how to manage the attorneys’ calendars, schedule appointments/meetings, and coordinate examinations for the defense experts. Able to effectively communicate with our clients regarding relevant aspects of the case, including but not limited to, drafting discovery responses. Among other things, spends time maintaining files, answering phone calls, along with other assigned administrative duties.
In this vital role, you will support our legal operations by managing case files, conducting legal research, and assisting with litigation processes related to personal injury and premises liability insurance defense cases. Your proactive approach and strong organizational skills will help ensure efficient case management and contribute to the success of our legal initiatives.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Coordinates and schedules CMES.
- Communicates with clients and expert witnesses.
- Maintains working knowledge of Florida Circuit Court procedures. Reviews court dockets and retrieves case information.
- Brings a well-developed sense of organization to coordinate workflow.
- Has general knowledge of law office operations, practices, and procedures.
- Experience in filing and scheduling procedures of the various courts, as well as how to use federal and state e-filing and e-Court systems.
- Exercises independent initiative and judgment in daily tasks.
- Assists in the preparation, review, filing, and service of pleadings, motions, discovery, and subpoenas.
- Reviews and prepares documents for document production requests.
- Analyzes and responds to incoming discovery.
- Reviews and analyzes medical records.
- Takes initiative to move case files to trial/resolution. Works autonomously, with low supervision.
- Returns telephone calls /voicemails on time.
- Maintains a clean email inbox.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of liability law areas, including personal injury and premises liability litigation procedures.
- Proficiency in legal case management software such as NEO's and document management systems like ImageRight.
- Excellent research skills using Westlaw and LexisNexis to gather pertinent legal information
- Effective legal drafting skills with attention to detail for motions, pleadings, and correspondence.
- Superior organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in legal administrative tasks including data entry, filing, proofreading, transcription and document review.
- Strong communication skills with professional phone etiquette for interviewing clients and coordinating with expert witnesses and claims staff.
- Project management capabilities to support complex litigation processes efficiently.
- Clerical experience combined with administrative expertise in a law office setting.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
