Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable, skilled, hands-on Chef to help lead our culinary team on Night Shift and Weekends. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation, with the ability to create exceptional dining experiences. As the head Chef during the evenings,you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation, and part o a small team of skilled kitchen staff.
Duties
- Lead and manage the kitchen team, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operations.
- Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to maintain quality and consistency.
- Help develop innovative menu items that reflect the veg+ philosophy while meeting customer preferences.
- Help control inventory, including minimizing waste.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all kitchen activities.
- Coordinate catering services and special events when appropriate, ensuring that all meals are prepared to the highest standards.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff in cooking techniques, food safety practices, and customer service skills.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during busy shifts.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar leadership role within a restaurant or banquet setting.
- Strong knowledge of food service operations, including menu planning, inventory management, and cost control.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
- Proficiency in various cooking techniques and cuisines, with a passion for food preparation.
- Experience in shift management, ensuring that all kitchen staff perform their duties efficiently during peak hours.
