Conduct quality inspections of materials and processes using measuring and test equipment. Make acceptance decisions and initiate appropriate follow-up actions.
- Inspect incoming materials for shipping damage and compliance with customer requirements.
- Verify distribution packaging to ensure packing slips match order contents.
- Inspect first articles to confirm materials and quantities align with work instructions.
- Partner with Operations and Client Services to ensure customer requirements are understood and met.
- Conduct process audits to confirm proper setup, document results, and follow up as needed.
- Perform out-of-box audits, record findings, and take action on quality issues.
- Review shipping documentation to ensure accuracy of materials and quantities.
- Customer-focused with a commitment to meeting or exceeding expectations.
- Strong problem-solving skills to identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Basic computer skills, including Outlook, data entry, and report generation; experience with SAP or similar systems preferred.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate with Operations to resolve quality issues.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Attention to detail to distinguish minor differences in materials.
- Basic math skills for counting and verifying quantities, including use of a scale.
- Reliable attendance, self-motivation, and ability to work independently.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Adaptability to new assignments, cross-training, and changing customer requirements, including overtime or alternate shifts as needed.
- Willingness to learn Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access) and SAP.
- Knowledge of 6S and ISO 9001 is a plus.
- Preferred (not required): Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, ASQ certifications, Spanish, and experience in distribution, quality inspection, or operations.
- Ability to bend, push, pull, lift, and climb stairs.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand or walk for extended periods (up to 12 hours).
- Ability to operate a pallet jack and move materials as needed.
- Pay rate for Louisville, KY / Shepherdsville, KY: $19.50 per hour.
