Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment and vehicles. Your expertise will ensure that all machinery operates efficiently, safely, and reliably across various industries including construction, agriculture, and transportation. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, air brakes, electrical systems, and other heavy equipment components using schematics and diagnostic tools.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on construction machinery, farm equipment, industrial vehicles, tractor-trailers, forklifts, excavators, cranes, and other heavy-duty machinery.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to repair or modify equipment as needed.
- Troubleshoot issues related to equipment operation through electrical diagnostics and automotive diagnostics methods to identify root causes efficiently.
- Complete detailed service reports, maintenance logs, and repair documentation to ensure accurate records of all work performed.
- Assist with equipment assembly, installation, and testing of new machinery or components following OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications.
- Support heavy lifting operations safely while performing tire services, brake repairs, suspension work, alignment adjustments, HVAC repairs, and hydraulic system servicing.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic with dealership experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment such as construction machinery maintenance and farm machinery servicing.
- Proficiency in electrical diagnostics, schematics reading, equipment troubleshooting, and automotive repair techniques.
- Hands-on experience with fabrication, welding (including soldering), and metalworking tools.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working with tires or large components.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial machinery.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.
- Valid certifications in diesel engine repair, air brake systems, hydraulics or related fields are highly desirable.
