Overview Summary
Summit Staffing is seeking an Account Management Specialist to support customer transportation and logistics operations. In this role, you’ll serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts, helping manage order activity, resolve service issues, monitor transportation performance, and support overall account success through effective communication and coordination.

Key Responsibilities
- Build proactive relationships with assigned customer accounts by resolving issues and concerns in a timely manner while providing effective solutions.
- Monitor and manage order acceptance, order maintenance, and accessorial charges using transportation management systems, email, and phone communication.
- Review and determine billable accessorial charges while assisting with dispute resolution and collections processes.
- Work collaboratively with account managers and operations teams to identify opportunities to reduce customer accessorial costs.
- Analyze internal and external account metrics to recommend alternative transportation solutions when needed.
- Ensure customer accounts receive efficient transportation solutions while maximizing profitability, network efficiency, and on-time performance.
- Communicate with shippers and consignees regarding shipment exceptions, delays, and issue resolution.
- Coordinate with operations teams to manage transportation assets and improve overall service efficiency.
- Maintain quality service standards and escalate operational concerns to leadership when necessary.
- Support timely resolution of shipment-related issues and customer concerns.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, supply chain, management, or related field preferred.
- Experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain, or customer account management preferred.
- Familiarity with EDI processes, web tender portals, and electronic communication systems preferred.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and customer service mindset.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work scheduled weekend rotations as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working within transportation management systems (TMS).
- Knowledge of freight operations, logistics coordination, or supply chain processes.
- Experience managing customer accounts and resolving billing or shipment discrepancies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- Weekend rotation may be required based on business needs.
