Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Service Manager to oversee our automotive service department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in auto service management and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient operation of the service department, managing staff, and maintaining high standards of service quality.
Duties
- Manage daily operations of the service department, ensuring efficiency and productivity.
- Supervise and train service technicians, providing guidance on automotive diagnostics and repair.
- Oversee customer interactions to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns.
- Implement upselling strategies to promote additional services and products.
- Conduct auto estimating for repairs and maintenance services.
- Maintain accurate records of services performed, parts used, and customer interactions through effective service writing.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with sales staff to enhance customer experience and drive business growth.
- Monitor inventory levels of parts and supplies needed for vehicle maintenance and repair.
Skills
- Proven dealership experience with a strong understanding of automotive service management.
- Proficient in automotive diagnostics, mechanical knowledge, and vehicle maintenance practices.
- Experience in upselling services, cash handling, and customer service excellence.
- Familiarity with various aspects of automotive repair including transmissions, oil changes, brake repair, tire service, air brake systems, alignment, suspension work, shocks & struts, diesel engine repair, and auto body repair.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.
- Ability to lead a team of technicians while fostering a positive work environment.
