Travel Registered Nurse – Hospice
Location: Portland, OR 97213
Shift: Day Shift | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Duration: 13 Weeks (Highly possible to an extent)
Weekly Hours: 40 Hours
Weekly Pay: $2,200 – $2,500 (DOE)
Position Overview:
Providence Oregon Hospice is seeking a compassionate and experienced Travel Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) to provide exceptional end-of-life care for adult and geriatric patients throughout the Portland metropolitan area. Join a respected home hospice team dedicated to delivering patient-centered care while supporting families through every stage of the hospice journey.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide skilled nursing care to hospice patients in home and community settings.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care.
- Manage pain and symptoms using evidence-based hospice and palliative care practices.
- Educate patients and caregivers on medications, disease progression, and hospice services.
- Complete OASIS assessments and maintain accurate documentation in Epic EMR.
- Coordinate care with physicians, social workers, chaplains, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Provide emotional support, end-of-life education, and bereavement guidance to patients and families.
- Perform IV therapy, medication administration, and symptom management as appropriate.
- Travel between patient homes while maintaining timely documentation and productivity standards.
Requirements:
- Active Oregon RN License and Washington RN License (or ability to obtain both before start).
- Minimum 1 year of recent skilled Hospice RN experience.
- Current AHA BLS certification.
- Experience with OASIS documentation required.
- Home Hospice or Home Health experience preferred.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance required.
- Strong assessment, communication, and independent clinical decision-making skills.
Schedule:
- 13-week travel assignment
- Monday–Friday
- 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- 40 hours per week
- No weekends
- No on-call
- Average 4–6 patient visits per day
- Mileage reimbursement provided at the IRS standard rate.
Pay: $2,200.00 - $2,500.00 per week
