We are seeking a Psychological Assistant to join MP Wellness and provide psychotherapy and psychological assessment services under the supervision of a licensed psychologist, in accordance with California Board of Psychology and APA guidelines.
About the Role
The Psychological Assistant will support a growing private practice focused on psychological assessment, therapy, and evidence-based treatment. This role is ideal for someone pursuing licensure hours or seeking advanced supervised clinical experience in assessment and psychotherapy.
Responsibilities
- Conduct intake interviews and clinical assessments under supervision
- Administer, score, and assist in interpretation of psychological and neuropsychological testing instruments
- Provide individual psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and adults under supervision
- Complete clinical documentation in compliance with APA ethical standards and California regulations
- Prepare integrated assessment reports and treatment recommendations
- Participate in supervision, consultation, and case review meetings
- Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all times
- Collaborate with schools, physicians, therapists, and families when appropriate
Qualifications
- Registered or eligible to register as a Psychological Associate/Psychological Assistant with the California Board of Psychology preferred
- Experience or strong interest in psychological testing and assessment
- Knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic criteria and evidence-based treatment approaches
- Strong writing, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Comfortable working with children, adolescents, and families preferred
Preferred Experience
- Psychological testing administration including cognitive, academic, ADHD, autism, personality, or executive functioning measures
- Experience in private practice or outpatient mental health settings
