Job Summary: Bladder & Bowel Institute, a rapidly growing multi-specialty and Ambulatory Surgical Center, is in search of a compassionate and detail-oriented Billing and Coding Specialist to join our dedicated team. This role is focused on performing necessary coding and claim submission activities, and allows BBI to maintain strong, supportive relationships with our patients throughout their healthcare journey.
Key Responsibilities:
· Review patient accounts to apply proper ICD-10 codes, CPT codes, and modifiers.
· Ensure that all claims are handled in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements, such as CMS, AMA, NCCI.
· Work closely with BBI providers, insurance companies, and revenue cycle to resolve any discrepancies and ensure timely submission of claims.
· Review claim edits and exception reports, adjusting as needed prior to submission.
· Maintain records and prepare correspondence related to coding and billing.
· Stay updated on changes in insurance regulations and industry best practices.
· Demonstrate self-direction to prioritize and accomplish job responsibilities.
· Can work in environment which may include sudden changes and can prioritize tasks to meet business needs.
· Uphold patient confidentiality and rights, ensuring all interactions adhere to BBI’s quality standards.
· Establish and enforce organizational standards to maintain service quality.
Qualifications:
· One or more coding certifications preferred (CPC, CCS, RHIT, RHIA, CCA, or equivalent).
· Minimum of 2 years of experience in health insurance coding and billing, preferably in Ambulatory Surgical Centers, Professional and Surgery, Urology, Urogynecology, and/or InterStim procedures.
· Ability to analyze and resolve health services claims and related problems.
· Exhibit excellent prioritization and time management skills, capable of multitasking and shifting focus seamlessly between various tasks.
· Be eager to learn and adapt, with a relentless drive to find solutions to new and existing challenges.
· Be action-oriented, ready to take on challenges with minimal planning, and consistently deliver timely results.
· Be composed and flexible, thriving in a fast-paced and evolving work environment.
· Possess basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, and familiarity with standard office equipment and phone systems.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
