Job Summary
Under general supervision, employee is responsible for the supervision and monitoring of individuals with behavioral health needs in a communal living environment overnight. Employee’s primary focus is to identify behaviors, situations or physical conditions that obstruct safety and security. Employee must be physically present and awake for entirety of shift and able to readily respond to the needs of the individuals. Critical component of job is to possess strong interpersonal skills. May be required to transport persons served in the MPNN BH vehicle. Reports to the Residential Manager. Position is located in Lively, Virginia.
Job Responsibilities

Monitors environment and addresses any safety issues that may arise.

Knowledge of how to respond to an emergency such as fire, weather event, medical or behavioral health emergency.
- Utilizes appropriate intervention techniques to assist individuals, provides first aid and CPR interventions, if needed, and assist with carrying out crisis plans as needed.
- Documents accurately and timely in electronic health record.
- Knowledge of each individual in the home and how to respond to needs presented.
- Brief next shift on overnight activities and coordination of care needs.
- Follows policies and procedures during medical, behavioral, and fire emergencies.
- Ensures compliance with Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) regulations.
- Answers telephone calls, making decisions with consideration of individual safety and security, and reports such actions to on-coming staff and supervisors, according to internal and external guidelines.
- Performs routine infection control techniques.
- Maintains records related to service delivery according to applicable ethical requirements and the requirements of the MPNN BH and other regulatory agencies (federal, State, and other).
- Participates in professional development training, seminars, and conferences pertaining to the operation of MPNN BH clinical services.

Maintains and updates vehicle use records.
- Performs routine maintenance and checks on safety devices, and conducts fire or other drills.

Job Requirements
Essential
- Must pass all required Background Checks.
- Must possess a valid Virginia Driver's License with reliable transportation and driving record acceptable to agency insurance carrier.
- Must obtain a TB test with satisfactory results within 30 days of employment, and yearly thereafter as required by licensing authority.
Education and Experience
BA/BS in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, or related field, and 1 to 2 years related experience in a medical or psychological field, involving work with individuals diagnosed with behavioral health or Co-occurring disorder, preferably with an emphasis on the safety and security of individuals .QMHP-A or QMHP-T required within 30 days of hire.
