Children & Family Services is seeking an Adoption Services Administrator remote within North Dakota.
Leading with light means helping every child find the opportunity to grow in a safe, permanent, and loving family. As our Adoption Services Administrator, you will play an essential role in advancing that mission while supporting our vision of creating the healthiest state in the nation.
As our Adoption Services Administrator, you will provide leadership and oversight for North Dakota's adoption services and adoption subsidy program. Your work will help children find permanent families, support individuals and families as they grow through adoption, and assist those seeking to reconnect with biological family members through the adoption search process.
You will provide administrative oversight, regulatory supervision, and program direction for adoption services across the state. You will oversee program budgets, manage contracts and requests, and ensure the resources and partnerships are in place to keep adoption services operating effectively and efficiently.
You will recognize that every adoption is unique and requires thoughtful, individualized consideration. In order to facilitate adoptive placements, adoption finalizations and adoption subsidy support, you will have primary responsibility in the timely and accurate processing of services and legal documents. You will oversee and provide policy interpretation and technical assistance to the adoption subsidy program staff.
You will develop expertise in adoption processes that extend beyond North Dakota, including interstate and international adoptions. You will review and interpret complex legal documents, state and federal laws, policies, and regulations while providing accurate guidance to families, case workers, attorneys, and community partners throughout the adoption process.
To thrive in this position, you must have strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to evaluate complex situations, identify solutions, and balance careful attention to detail with the broader goals of the program. You will become a subject matter expert on state and federal laws, regulations, and policies governing adoption services and adoption assistance.
You must be able to manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly as needs change. Every adoption follows its own path, and you will be responsible for coordinating numerous moving pieces while ensuring each case receives the attention and care it deserves.
You must be confident communicating with a wide variety of audiences, adjusting your communication style to meet the needs of legislators, attorneys, judges, case workers, community partners, and families considering or completing an adoption.
You must be able to interpret both written documentation and the unique circumstances surrounding each case. You will demonstrate empathy, professionalism, and sound judgment while supporting individuals and families who may be experiencing a wide range of emotions during one of the most significant moments of their lives.
