Responsibilities
- Lead daily classroom activities, ensuring an engaging and developmentally appropriate environment for children across various age groups, including toddlers and preschoolers.
- Develop and implement innovative curricula that incorporate literacy education, math, physical education, and Montessori methods to support comprehensive childhood development.
- Manage classroom behavior through positive behavior management techniques, fostering a respectful and nurturing atmosphere.
- Collaborate with families to communicate children's progress, address concerns, and support early intervention strategies when needed.
- Oversee lesson planning and adapt teaching methods to accommodate children with special education needs or those requiring additional support.
- Supervise and mentor assistant teachers or aides, promoting teamwork and professional growth within the classroom setting.
- Ensure compliance with childcare regulations, health and safety standards, and documentation requirements such as standardized testing records and child welfare policies.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of childhood development, early childhood education, and preschool curricula
- Experience working with children of various ages, including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers
- Proficiency in classroom management and behavior management techniques
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with children, parents, and team members
Required: 6 hours of ECE college credits with 60 total college credits, or 6 ECE college credits with 30 college credits with a year (clock in hours at a childcare center) or, a CDA.
