POSITION: Special Education Teacher, Wirt County Primary Center
CONTRACT: 200-day contract for the 2026-2027 school year
QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Meet requirements for certification in Multi Categorical Special Education K-8 or K-5 and 6-8 (LD, BD, MI, Autism)
-
Ability to communicate and work effectively with school administrators, school personnel, and parents
-
Demonstrates ability to provide differentiated instruction and intervention to students
-
Demonstrate organizational and management skills
-
Demonstrates working knowledge of developing and implementing IEP's
-
Educational philosophy compatible with the Wirt County Board of Education
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-
Administer assessments and provide documentation of students' progress
-
Analyze scores and performance in order to develop an instructional program for students
-
Participate in professional development opportunities to improve professional practice
-
Coordinate activities as required by IDEA for students and parents
-
Coordinate services with local agencies to provide quality instruction and services to students
-
Keep written records and documentation of student progress
-
Plan and implement personalized learning in push in, pull out, and/or co-teaching environments
-
Other duties as assigned by Principal
SUPERVISOR: Principal/Assistant Principal
SALARY: Wirt County Salary Scale for teachers based on degree and years' experience
