About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Glazier or an experienced Carpenter looking to transition into full-time glass service work. In this role, you will handle on-site residential and commercial service calls—ranging from home window repairs and custom shower enclosures to storefront glass replacements and commercial door hardware fixes.
If you have a strong woodworking, framing, or trim carpentry background, your core skill set (precision measuring, tool proficiency, and structural problem-solving) makes you an ideal candidate. We are fully prepared to train the right carpenter on specialized glass safety and handling!
Key Responsibilities
- Residential Service: Measure, remove, and install replacement insulated glass units (IGUs), frameless heavy glass showers, mirrors, vinyl/wood window sashes, and patio sliding door rollers.
- Commercial Service: Repair and replace storefront glass, commercial aluminum door hardware (pivots, closers, panic bars), and window wall components.
- Diagnostics & Measurement: Conduct on-site field measurements with high precision using tapes, calipers, and levels to order exact replacement glass.
- Customer Interaction: Serve as the professional, polite, and clean face of our company while working inside occupied homes and active business locations.
- Carpentry & Trimming: Perform necessary woodwork, casing repairs, caulking, and weather-sealing to ensure a leak-free, clean finish.
- Safety: Safely transport, lift, and maneuver glass panes using proper suction lifters and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Qualifications
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in glazing, finish carpentry, window installation, or general remodeling.
- Skill Alignment: Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, caulk guns, and tape measures (down to 1/16").
- Clean Driving Record: Valid driver’s license (you will be operating a company service vehicle).
- Physical Capability: Ability to lift up to 75 lbs safely and work on ladders or scaffolding when needed.
- Problem Solver: Ability to inspect a broken or misaligned door/window on-site and determine the proper hardware fix on the spot.
