in2itive Business Solutions is a leading medical billing firm offering full range of revenue cycle management services to Ambulatory Surgery Centers and Physician Practices nationwide.
The Medical Billing Specialist will perform duties associated with the billing process while adhering to HIPAA compliance, privacy, and confidentiality standards.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 2 years previous experience in medical billing field, that must include charge entry and coding.
- Practice in evaluating insurance payer contracts and entering charges according to contracts.
- Thorough knowledge of CPT, ICD-10 codes, bundled codes, and modifiers
- Experience with medical claims filing
- Skilled in utilizing electronic claims clearinghouses.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs
- Preferred implant billing experience including interocular lenses within the ASC methodology.
- Working knowledge of Ambulatory Surgery Center focused electronic medical records software such as HST, AdvantX, and SIS complete.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Monitor receipt of coding and data entry of all billing codes for submitting accurate claims
- Enter charges according to payer contracts within 48 hours of code sheet receipt.
- File accurate claims through electronic clearinghouse or on paper UB or HCFA form
- Maintain standards to ensure systematic, consistent and timely submission of insurance and patient claims.
- Ability to communicate to outside sources regarding missing information that is holding up claim submission.
- Ability to add temporary codes to the client billing software for cases where coding could not be completed.
- Maintain and update information related to charge entry on company provided spreadsheet.
- Responsible for reviewing and auditing medical records and analyzing documentation to ensure diagnosis, procedure(s) and charge codes are assigned.
- Experience handling pre-made patient payments and knowing how it affects your position.
- Other assigned duties as needed.
