Responsibilities
- Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards that enhance students’ reading, writing, and analytical skills
- Develop innovative instructional materials utilizing learning technology to support diverse learning styles and needs
- Conduct copy editing, proofreading, and editing of student work to improve clarity, coherence, and adherence to style guides such as AP Style and the Chicago Manual of Style
- Mentor students in developing strong writing skills through individualized feedback, tutoring sessions, and classroom instruction
- Foster a positive classroom environment through effective classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies
- Incorporate research methods and literacy education strategies to deepen students’ understanding of language structures and literary analysis
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, assessment design, standardized testing preparation, and educational administration tasks
- Support students’ academic advising needs by guiding them through course selections and educational pathways
Experience
- Proven experience in higher education teaching or classroom instruction with a focus on English or related fields such as journalism, creative writing, or linguistics
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, instructional design, and lesson planning tailored to diverse student populations
- Strong background in working with students across different age groups, including experience with special education or private school environments
- Familiarity with learning technology tools that enhance literacy education and instructional delivery
- Knowledge of standardized testing formats and assessment strategies to measure student progress effectively
- Experience mentoring or coaching fellow educators or students in developing their writing skills or research capabilities
- Prior involvement in library services or supporting academic research initiatives is advantageous
