Job Summary
The Retail Team Member performs convenience store functions in a self-sufficient and competent manner, while also providing assistance in the retail farm market as needed. This role ensures exceptional customer service and supports the overall success of the market.

Job Requirements
- Work closely with farm market and country store team members, as well as every customer entering the market.
- Perform daily market opening duties, including turning on lights, preparing the cash register, unlocking entrances, and recording lottery numbers in the log.
- Assist customers with purchases by operating the cash register, credit card machine, and lottery machine.
- Restock cooler, bagged ice, two-liter soda, tobacco, oil, and other sundry items at least twice per shift (morning and afternoon).
- Check and maintain bathroom cleanliness and stock levels.
- Sweep and mop floors; pull out units and clean mats on assigned days.
- Serve coned ice cream, whole pies, and prepare pie boxes as needed.
- Keep the counter area, register area, and holding cases clean and sanitized.
- Complete all assigned daily chore and cleaning list tasks.
- Prepare the market for closing by reviewing and completing all closing tasks.
- Perform duties in other market divisions, including farm market or foodservice, when needed.
- Cross-train in deli, bakery, and farm market positions.
- Perform any store function necessary to ensure smooth operations.
- Complete PASS Training Operator C certification.
- Any other duties assigned by the manager.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with the public.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately.
- Previous retail experience preferred – Proficiency in point-of-sale systems, cash handling, and making correct change.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while maintaining quality, organization, and cleanliness standards.
Additional Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED (High School students may apply).
- Capability to lift or move 50+ lbs. unassisted.
- Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods of time.
