Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and safety-conscious CDL Class A Truck Driver with double endorsements to operate a super 10/bottom dump trailer. Duties
- Safely operate a tractor-trailer equipped with double endorsements, including super 10/bottom dump trailers, ensuring adherence to all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safety standards.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck, trailer, and load to guarantee vehicle safety and compliance with FMCSA regulations.
- Navigate using GPS systems efficiently to follow designated routes, including over-the-road (OTR) routes, ensuring timely deliveries across multiple locations.
- Load, secure, and unload cargo such as bulk materials, freight, or hazardous goods using appropriate manual handling techniques and equipment like forklifts when necessary.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and cargo manifests in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Follow all safety protocols related to hazardous materials regulations when transporting dangerous goods or hazardous substances.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules, route changes, or any issues encountered during transit.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on the truck and trailer to ensure optimal performance throughout each shift.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) Class A with double endorsements required; experience operating super 10/bottom dump trailers preferred.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving in various environments such as flatbed, tanker, roll-off trucks, or dump trucks.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety procedures for transporting dangerous goods.
- Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently; familiarity with manual handling techniques for cargo loading/unloading is a plus.
- Proficiency in GPS navigation systems and logistics cargo handling equipment such as forklifts or other loading tools.
- Strong understanding of truck loading/unloading procedures and freight management best practices.
- Excellent driving record with a focus on safety; previous experience with refrigerated trailers or automobile transportation is advantageous.
- Physical ability to handle manual tasks associated with load & unload activities; capable of working long hours on over-the-road routes while maintaining alertness and safety standards.
With opportunities for overtime work. Can range up to 7 to 8 hours of overtime per pay period when needed. Hours may vary depending on projects.
