Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated heavy equipment wheeled excavator Operator to join our recycling materials handling team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating various types of excavators, including grapple wheeled excavators and tracked excavators, skid loader and forklifts, to lift, move, and position metal materials. Your expertise in load handling procedures, and safety regulations will ensure efficient operations while maintaining the highest safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to material handling efforts by utilizing industry knowledge and heavy equipment operation skills in a productive, safety-conscious environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate a wheeled excavator material, skid steers, forklifts, and other heavy equipment with safety and efficiently.
- Follow load safety methods and load handling procedures in equipment operations to prevent accidents or damage.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of excavators,skid steer and related equipment, ensuring all safety equipment is functional and compliant with OSHA safety standards.
- Adhere strictly to workplace safety regulations and safety protocol guidelines during all equipment operations.
- Coordinate with logistics to plan load schedule, ensuring proper coordination for production efficiency.
- Maintain detailed records of excavator usage, inspections, maintenance needs, and incident reports as required by safety regulations.
- Assist with shipping & receiving activities by loading and unloading materials while ensuring proper material handling practices are followed.
Experience
- Proven experience operating wheeled excavator's, skid steers, and forklifts, and other equipment within a material handling or heavy equipment setting.
- Strong mechanical , excavator operation systems, loading and unloading methods, and material handling techniques.
- Familiarity with site safety regulations and implementation of OSHA safety standards in daily operations.
- Prior experience working in environments involving materials handling, shipping & receiving processes, or warehouse logistics is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to follow detailed procedures in equipment operations while maintaining a focus on safety protocol adherence.
