Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to manage and oversee the payroll functions within our organization. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, maintain compliance with all relevant labor and tax laws, and support various HR and accounting systems. This role requires a strong understanding of payroll systems, financial concepts, and HRIS platforms to ensure confidentiality and precision in handling sensitive employee information. The Payroll Administrator will play a vital role in maintaining efficient payroll operations and supporting the organization's financial health.
Responsibilities
- Process payroll accurately and efficiently using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, UltiPro, Kronos, Ceridian, or other supported payroll software.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, labor regulations, and tax requirements related to payroll processing.
- Manage benefits administration related to payroll, including deductions, contributions, and tax filings.
- Reconcile payroll data with general ledger accounts through account reconciliation and journal entries.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee data and sensitive financial information at all times.
- Prepare reports on payroll activities, tax filings, and labor law compliance for internal review or external audits.
- Support time & attendance systems integration with payroll platforms to ensure accurate tracking of hours worked.
- Assist with year-end reporting, tax filings, and audits related to payroll taxes.
- Collaborate with HR and finance teams on benefits administration, accounts payable/receivable, and other related functions.
- Stay updated on changes in payroll laws, tax law amendments, and industry best practices to ensure ongoing compliance.
Experience
- Proven experience working with payroll systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, Kronos, Ceridian, UltiPro, or similar platforms.
- Strong background in corporate accounting or finance with expertise in general ledger accounting, accounts payable/receivable, and governmental accounting.
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms and time & attendance systems integration.
- Knowledge of employment & labor law, tax law compliance, payroll tax regulations, and benefits administration.
- Proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel), accounting software (QuickBooks or similar), and data entry accuracy.
- Experience handling confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
- Skills in analysis, account reconciliation, double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, debits & credits are highly desirable.
- Ability to interpret financial concepts related to payroll management while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
