Overview
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Musical Theater Teacher to inspire students through the vibrant world of musical theater. Duties
- Develop comprehensive curriculum plans that incorporate theater techniques, vocal training, dance routines, and stage presence to cultivate students’ artistic growth
- Lead engaging classroom sessions that combine singing, acting, dancing, and theatrical storytelling to enhance students’ performance abilities
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive learning environment conducive to creativity and collaboration
- Design and implement lesson plans tailored to diverse age groups, including early childhood education, preschoolers, and older students with varying skill levels
- Organize rehearsals and assist students in preparing for performances or showcases that highlight their talents
- Incorporate various artistic disciplines such as choreography, costume design (sewing), photography documentation of performances, and basic culinary activities related to theater productions when appropriate
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers, or other educators to support student development and address individual needs or special education requirements
Qualifications
- Proven experience in teaching theater arts, musical theater, or related performing arts disciplines with classroom management expertise
- Strong background in curriculum development tailored for children and adults with diverse learning needs
- Familiarity with dance styles such as ballet and general dancing techniques; experience in choreography is a plus
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and preschool experience is highly desirable
- Ability to work effectively with children, teenagers, and adult learners in a supportive and motivating manner
- Skills in lesson planning that integrate theatrical techniques with other creative activities like sewing or photography
- Experience working with special education populations or implementing behavior management strategies is advantageous
- Additional skills such as culinary experience or childcare knowledge can enhance the learning experience but are not mandatory
