Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teaching Certification for the state of Michigan
- Experience adapting curriculum and instruction for students with a range of disabilities
- Strong understanding of IEP processes, compliance, and documentation
- Skilled in collaboration with general education staff, support professionals, and families
- Positive, student-focused attitude and classroom management skills
- Flexibility to work with various grade levels as needed
Core Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in accordance with student needs and district guidelines
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
- Monitor, assess, and document student progress, using data to guide instruction
- Communicate regularly and effectively with parents, guardians, and colleagues
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet students’ learning styles and functional needs
- Participate in professional development and school meetings as required
