We are seeking an experienced Lead Construction Laborer to join our growing team. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who enjoys working in the field, leading crews, and producing quality work across a variety of construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise construction crews on residential and commercial job sites.
- Assign daily tasks and ensure projects stay on schedule.
- Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications.
- Perform and oversee framing, drywall, trim carpentry, flooring, tile, painting, roofing, concrete, masonry, and general remodeling work.
- Coordinate daily activities with Project Managers and subcontractors.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized job site.
- Ensure work meets company quality standards and local building codes.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, lifts, and construction equipment safely.
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Assist with material ordering, deliveries, and job site organization.
- Train and mentor crew members on proper construction techniques and safety procedures.
- Identify and resolve field issues while maintaining project schedules.
Minimum Qualifications
- 3+ years of residential and commercial construction experience.
- 2+ years of construction crew leadership or supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of remodeling and new construction practices.
- Ability to read blueprints and construction plans.
- Experience with carpentry, drywall, flooring, tile, roofing, concrete, painting, and finish work.
- Knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems is preferred.
- Experience operating power tools, hand tools, and construction equipment.
- Familiarity with Bluebeam, Procore, Buildertrend, or similar construction software is a plus.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid Arizona driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Reliable transportation to job sites throughout Southern Arizona.
- OSHA 10 Certification must be obtain in the first 30 days of employment; OSHA 30 preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders, work on roofs, scaffolding, and elevated platforms.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to bend, kneel, squat, crawl, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and committed to workplace safety.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening, if applicable.
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 30 Certification
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- Forklift or Aerial Lift Certification
- Experience with commercial tenant improvements
- Experience with estimating, scheduling, and material takeoffs
