Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Contingent Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical expertise, a passion for patient-centered care, and the ability to thrive in diverse healthcare settings. As a Contingent Registered Nurse, you will deliver exceptional nursing services.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations to determine individual needs.
- Administer medications and injections with precision, including IV infusions, immunizations, and specialized treatments such as botulinum toxin therapy.
- Perform advanced procedures such as suturing, catheterization (including cardiac and urinary), tube feeding management, and ostomy care.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation of patient care activities.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop personalized care plans that incorporate pain management, behavioral health support, and palliative strategies.
- Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques during all patient interactions.
- Demonstrate proficiency in handling complex cases such as trauma medicine, infectious disease care, critical care transport, neonatal ventilator management, and geriatrics.
Skills
- Extensive clinical experience with critical care environments such as ICU or emergency medicine settings.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for medical documentation and coding (ICD-10/ICD-9).
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Skilled in performing laboratory procedures such as specimen collection/processing and phlebotomy.
- Expertise in pain management techniques including acute pain control and hospice/palliative medicine practices.
- Familiarity with specialty areas such as ophthalmology procedures (e.g., CT imaging), dialysis management, respiratory support (ventilators), and infection control measures.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations including pediatrics (neonatal & toddler care), individuals with disabilities or developmental delays (including memory or dementia care), and geriatric patients requiring long-term or hospice care.
- Excellent communication skills for patient education on health coaching topics like nutrition or medication administration while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
