Overview
We are actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant with a minimum of two years of clinical experience to join our dynamic dental team. Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, oral surgery, and pediatric dentistry.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly in accordance with infection prevention management protocols.
- Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging technology such as 3D scanners and other medical imaging tools while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
- Manage patient records efficiently using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with clinical confidentiality policies.
- Perform chairside assisting duties with proficiency in four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance procedural efficiency and patient comfort.
- Conduct vital signs assessments and assist with medical documentation to support comprehensive patient evaluations.
- Ensure strict adherence to dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to uphold infection control standards within the clinic environment.
- Support administrative tasks including dental reception duties, scheduling appointments, and managing medical coding for billing purposes.
- Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment by processing dental instruments properly and following infection prevention policies aligned with healthcare infection control expertise.
Experience
- Minimum of two years of hands-on experience working as a Dental Assistant in a busy clinical setting.
- Proven familiarity with Dentrix for managing medical records and documentation.
- Demonstrated knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to general dentistry and specialized fields like prosthodontics and endodontics.
- Experience performing dental X-ray procedures including intraoral radiography, CT scan and advanced imaging techniques like 3D scanning.
- Strong background in infection prevention management, sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control practices.
- Prior exposure to pediatric dentistry settings is highly desirable along with competence in pediatric-specific procedures.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team while maintaining professional standards of clinical confidentiality policies.
