Mile High Kids Collective runs Little Medical School programs across the South Denver metro, teaching kids ages 4–12 what doctors, nurses, and veterinarians actually do. We're looking for two or three reliable part-time instructors to join our team for our 12-week fall season.
Our fall season starts in mid-September, and paid training begins in mid-August. Candidates must be able to commit to the full 12-week season, with the option to continue teaching after the season ends.
The job is simple: you show up at an elementary school, daycare, or rec center with a bin of real medical equipment, including stethoscopes, reflex hammers, blood pressure cuffs, and kid-sized lab coats, and you run a 60-minute class that we've already written for you. Kids listen to their own heartbeats, practice taking pulses on stuffed animals, learn what an X-ray is, and generally have a blast pretending to be doctors. You don't need a medical background. We train you on the curriculum and give you everything you need.
What the schedule actually looks like
Afternoon (most) shifts begin between 2:15 and 3:15 PM on weekdays and run for about an hour, since these are afterschool enrichment programs. You'll typically work 5–10 hours per week depending on how many days you're available and how many schools you take on.
This is a great fit if you're a stay-at-home parent with school-age kids, a college student, a teacher looking for side income, a retired educator, or a healthcare worker who wants something different on your off days. Children of instructors receive a 100% discount on Little Medical School programs, space permitting.
What you'll actually do
Drive to the day's class location. We cover Littleton, Highlands Ranch, Parker, Centennial, and Englewood, and you can tell us which areas work for your commute. Set up the classroom, teach the lesson we've prepped for you, keep a group of up to 12 kids engaged and safe, pack up, and head home. You'll also send short updates to the site coordinator and occasionally chat with parents at pickup.
