Responsibilities
- Develop and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum tailored to infants and toddlers, incorporating early intervention strategies and literacy education techniques.
- Foster a nurturing environment that supports social-emotional growth, positive behavior management, and physical development in young children.
- Plan and execute engaging lesson plans that promote exploration, creativity, and foundational skills in areas such as math, language, and motor skills.
- Provide attentive toddler care by monitoring health, safety, nutrition, diapering, and rest routines with compassion and professionalism.
- Manage classroom dynamics effectively through classroom management techniques that encourage cooperation, independence, and respect among children.
- Collaborate with families to communicate children's progress, developmental milestones, and any special education needs or accommodations required.
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and child welfare regulations while maintaining accurate records of daily activities and observations.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of childhood development principles specific to infants and toddlers, including classroom management and behavior management techniques.
- Proven experience in curriculum development with a focus on early childhood education, preschool teaching, or daycare experience.
- Strong communication skills to engage effectively with children, families, colleagues, and community partners.
- Familiarity with special education practices, early intervention programs, and literacy education methods tailored for young learners.
- Ability to plan lessons that incorporate Montessori or other child-centered educational philosophies; experience with standardized testing or assessment tools is a plus.
- Demonstrated competence in classroom experience managing diverse groups of young children within private school or daycare settings.
- Knowledge of mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety regulations governing early childhood environments.
