Position Title: Head of Soccer
Reports To: Athletic Director
Position Summary
The Head of Soccer is responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight for the entire soccer program, including all teams below the varsity level. This position will lead the hiring, selection, evaluation, development, and supervision of coaches for middle school, elementary and having a full school year soccer academy, and ensuring a consistent philosophy, culture, and pathway throughout the program.
The Head of Soccer will work closely with Athletic Director, Coaches, players, families, and coaches to build a high-performing and development-focused soccer program that supports student-athlete growth both on and off the field.
Key Responsibilities
Coaching Leadership
- Recruit, select, and recommend coaches for all soccer teams below the varsity level.
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate coaching staff throughout the season.
- Establish and maintain a unified coaching philosophy across all levels of the program. (Including making a schedule to help with scoreboard and traveling with away teams)
- Ensure coaches adhere to school, league, and athletic department policies.
Program Development
- Design and oversee a player development pathway from 4-6 and middle school teams through varsity.
- Coordinate training schedule and playing philosophy across all teams.
- Evaluate program effectiveness and implement continuous improvements.
- Assist with long-term strategic planning and growth of the soccer program.
Operations & Administration
- Collaborate with the Athletic Director on staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Support coach onboarding, certification, and compliance requirements.
- Monitor team operations and ensure a positive experience for student-athletes and families.
- Assist with player evaluations and team placement processes.
- Make sure all coaches have emergency information.
Culture & Community
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and development-centered environment.
- Serve as a liaison between coaches, athletes, parents, and school administration.
- Promote sportsmanship, leadership, and character development throughout the program.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in sports management, education, coaching, or a related field.
- Significant soccer coaching and leadership experience.
- Demonstrated experience hiring, supervising, and developing coaching staff.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of player development principles and age-appropriate coaching methods.
Preferred
- Advanced coaching licenses or certifications.
- Experience leading multi-team soccer programs.
- Background working in educational or youth sports environments.

Stipend amount based off experience.
